Criteria and requirements

Eligible Applicants

PETaL EMJMD programme welcomes applications from students all around the world with a completed graduate degree preferably in areas relevant to the programme, such as education, pedagogy, intercultural studies, linguistics and sociology, among others. The programme seeks applicants with excellent academic results, strong interest in international education and proficiency in English.

Selection Criteria

The following requirements will be assessed in the selection process:

  1. Degree on Education (Preference Early Childhood Education).
  2. Level of English: minimum certified B2. You need to upload your official certificate of English level if you are not a native speaker of English. In this case, the selection committee will contact to you to appoint an interview to verify the level.
  3. Grades.
  4. Experience on the field.
  5. Motivation letter.

PROOF OF NATIONALITY

Proof of nationality – i.e. copy of valid passport (applicants with multiple nationalities must specify at the application stage under which nationality they wish to apply). Please note that for non-EU citizens only copy of passport, not ID, is acceptable. Citizens of the EU may use their ID as proof of nationality. Upload only the page of the passport with holders´ photograph and name of the passport holder.

Applicants with multiple nationalities must specify at the application stage under which nationality they are applying. The nationality has implications for the amount of the scholarship. The declaration of nationality cannot be changed later. Applicants whose nationality is one of the Erasmus+ Partner Countries and who are not residents, nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in a Programme Country, are considered as Partner Country students.

PROOF OF PLACE OF RESIDENCE

Proof of place of residence – please note, that the proof of place of residence must be issued no more than 12 months before the application submission deadline and your residency will have an implication for the calculation of the total amount of EMJMD Scholarship. You have to submit one the following documents:

  • Residence certificate;
  • Certificate or confirmation letter from the applicant’s place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question;
  • Alternatively, a receipt of the tax payment, residential rental agreement or employment contract in English where applicant’s name is clearly stated can be attached;
  • Passport or personal ID (for EU citizens). Passport or ID is accepted as a proof of place of residence only in case it was issued no more than 12 months before the application submission deadline and if the place of residence is stated in the passport.

COPY (SCAN) OF A DIPLOMA

Copy (scan) of a diploma proving successfully completed tertiary education (degree/master/PhD). Please note, that applicants who have not finished their degree by the year before are not eligible to apply for PETaL EMJMD.

This document must include The Hague Apostille to be accepted by PETaL EMJMD Joint Academic Committee. If your country has not signed the Apostille Treaty, the document must take the seal of veracity by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your country.

COPY (SCAN) OF A TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS

Copy (scan) of a transcript of records related to the above mentioned diploma(s) including all completed courses at the time of application. If the original is in a language other than English, the certified (legally attested) copy must be in the form of a certified translation in English.

This document must include The Hague Apostille to be accepted by PETaL EMJMD Joint Academic Committee. If your country has not signed the Apostille Treaty, the document must take the seal of veracity by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your country.

PROOF OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

Proof of English proficiency – all applicants need to provide an official proof of B2 minimum English level.

NOTE:

  • TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS certificates cannot be older than 2 years, CAE and CPE certificates cannot be older than 4 years.
  • Only the language tests mentioned above are accepted. No exceptions are made. If your test is not included in this list it will not be accepted. We kindly ask you not to contact us to ask for exemption based on other test methods.
  • No scores below the above stated minimums will be accepted. Please, check the official sites for these minimums.
  • Although you have done your degree in English, an official certificate of English is required to apply if you are not a native speaker of English.

CURRICULUM VITAE

Curriculum Vitae of maximum two A4 pages.

MOTIVATION LETTER

Motivation letter of maximum 700 words. The motivation letter should mainly focus on your academic interest in PETaL EMJMD programme and what you hope to achieve through studying in the programme. Additional relevant information can also be included, and you may refer to your Curriculum Vitae to save space. Please refrain from describing the PETaL programme unless doing so is relevant to your argument.
